چکیده

Modeling and analysis work was done on various supermarket refrigeration systems for their energy efficiency, TEWI (Total Equivalent Warming Impact), and annual operating cost. The systems which were modeled in detail include parallel racks, distributed, self-contained, glycol secondary loop, and CO2 secondary loop (medium temperature) and cascade (low temperature). Based on R404A modeling results, distributed systems with scroll compressors have energy usage 6 to 9% lower than the baseline parallel rack system. On the other hand, selfcontained units with horizontal scroll compressors and water-cooled condensers have energy consumption 11% higher than parallel racks, and glycol fluid secondary loop systems have energy consumption 15% higher than parallel racks. CO2 secondary loop/cascade systems with propane as primary refrigerant have energy consumption comparable to parallel racks. The CO2 systems also have low TEWI.

Performance Evaluation and Optimal Design of Supermarket Refrigeration Systems with Supermarket Model “SuperSim”, Part I: Model Description and Validation

Conventional supermarket refrigeration systems are responsible for considerable CO2 emissions due to high energy consumption and large quantities of refrigerant leakage. In the effort to conserve energy and reduce environmental impacts, an efficient design tool for the analysis, evaluation and comparison of the performance of alternative system designs and controls is required. This paper provi...

Simulation of Energy Use in Uk Supermarkets Using Energyplus

This paper investigates the interaction between supermarket heating, ventilation and air conditioning and refrigeration systems through simulation in EnergyPlus. This interaction has been studied by modelling a generic UK supermarket. The impact on the sum of HVAC and refrigeration energy consumption due to changes in a range of operating conditions was studied. These include the effect of alte...

An Evaluation of the Environmental Impact of Different Commercial Supermarket Refrigeration Systems Using Low Global Warming Potential Refrigerants

Commercial refrigeration systems consumed 1.21 Quads of primary energy in 2010 and are known to be a major source for refrigerant charge leakage into the environment. Thus, it is important to study the environmental impact of commercial supermarket refrigeration systems and improve their design to minimize any adverse impacts. The system's Life Cycle Climate Performance (LCCP) was presented as ...

Performance Evaluation and Optimal Design of Supermarket Refrigeration Systems with Supermarket Model “SuperSim”, Part II: Model Applications

As described in Part I, the supermarket simulation software “SuperSim” with its integrated refrigeration, building and HVAC system models, can be used to evaluate, compare and optimize alternative supermarket refrigeration systems. In Part II the model was used to evaluate and compare the performance of a CO2 booster refrigeration system with that of a conventional R404A multiplex system in a s...

Aalborg Universitet Modeling Supermarket Refrigeration Systems for Supervisory Control in Smart Grid

A modular modeling approach of supermarket refrigeration systems (SRS) which is appropriate for smart grid control purposes is presented in this paper. Modeling and identification are performed by just knowing the system configuration and measured data disregarding the physical details. So, this approach is extendable to different configurations with different modules. The focus of the work is ...
